Hand pruners can come in handy in more ways than you know. They can be used to cut flowers, trim small branches, remove dead flowers, shape plants, and more.

At the risk of damaging a plant by yanking it out or trying to break it yourself, hand pruners are actually better for the plant.

3. String Trimmers (Weed Eaters)

No matter how close you think you can get with a lawn mower, you’ll still need a string trimmer for those hard to reach places.

Even in a smaller yard, moving things from one place to another can get old, quickly. You never know when a wheelbarrow or cart will come in handy. They are awesome for transporting soil, mulch, hay, and even equipment from one place to another in a short period of time.

They can also be used to haul tools back and forth if you’re building or working on something away from your home.

7. Chainsaw

Large tree limbs or fallen trees can become serious obstructions for both you and your neighbors. The ability to be able to clean up the mess yourself can be a relief and also save you lots of money.

Just make sure you don’t skimp on chain oil or an anti-kickback chain. Also make sure you wear appropriate safety gear like pants, goggles, and gloves. You should also invest in a pair of steel toe boots for your yard work, especially when using a chainsaw or a trimmer.

8. Pressure Washer

Pressure washer projects are endless. It’s good for the obvious, like cleaning your driveway, house siding, patios or lanai. It’s also an excellent tool to use for cleaning outdoor furniture, grills, your lawn mower, your front entryway, and your garage door.

Using a pressure washer is an excellent way to keep the outside of your home looking clean and fresh, without using chemicals and cleaning solutions.
